The single release „Lisa Lisa“ is the first Single of the third album of !DelaDap being released in late summer 2008. The song „Lisa Lisa“ is a traditional from Russian Roma which, in !DelaDap´s 21st-century-groove-version, already became one of the highlights on last years !DelaDap tour across Europe. The second new track „Imar Aven“ is a Roma-traditional too, in this case from Gypsies in the Czech Republic. When listening to this elegant pop-song it´s hard to believe that its melody actually roots back maybe a couple of centuries.

A very unique mixture resulted from !Dela Dap´s collaboration with the Czech rapper Gipsy.cz. The Romanese hiphop lyrics turn !DelaDap ́s track „So Shunes“ into a novelty. Gipsy.cz exploded on the Czech music scene and the borders between world music, gypsy music, hip hop and pop were broken for the first time. He developed his style of Romano hip-hop, combining Roma rhythms and language with the 200bpm music played by Balkan brass bands.

Kaj Tu Salas
Release-Date: October 209
Maxi-CD / Order-No: CCR018-6 EUR 7,-
Kaj Tu Salas, the second Maxi-Single „spin off“ from the current !DelaDap album „Sara La Kali“ comes with a quite unique mixture of a bouncing, still driving beat, an ace violine-hookline and some very special vocals by !DelaDap studio voice Melinda Stoika who puts a huge load of soul into the verses that are a magical blend of singing and rapping. The song – the title might be translated with „where were you“ – tells the story of the Roma’s long way from India through all parts of Europe, where they spread their music. The new Maxi-Single also comes with some outstanding remixes from exceptional artists also from all across Europe. Especially the cooperation with Dj Panko of the Spanish top act „Ojos de Brujo“ was a great experience and it looks like there will be comming more out of this new musical friendship. Also the remixes by Italo-British producer and DJ Stefano Miele will find it’s ways on the dancefloors with an ass kicking up-beat – almost Ska like groove. And of course not to forget two remixes by Swiss-Spanish DJ and producer Massivan, who delivered a sophisticated new interpretation of the !DelaDap smash „Lisa Lisa“.

The song „Lautlos“ has a very spezial flair. It has been written and recorded in cooperation with the Berlin cult band „17 HIPPIES“. Singer „Kiki“ Sauer’s very own style of mixing French, English and German text fragments mixed with the sound of !DelaDap did create a strong feeling of multi-cultur somewhere between Chanson, Balkan Sound and Jazz.

Both remixers N.O.H.A and Jeremiah have some close connections to !DelaDap and it's producer Stani Vana. Jeremiah, one of Vienna's most experienced specialists for fine and deep house tunes, is a friend of Vana since long. N.O.H.A.'s musical boss Philip Noha and Stani Vana know each other just shortly, but that they are on a similar wave is not only because both are from Czech capital Prague. N.O.H.A's most resepcted 12" "Balkan Hotstep", which hit every well sorted DJ playlist and made it into Gilles Petersons "best of 2003" list, was such a brilliant facet of "world-electro-jazz" that made it obvious that those two projects should do something together.

Culture — be it sculpture, writing, painting, speech or music — is all about migration Meeting new people, learning, adopting new ideas, but keeping your roots. In ancient times, when ethnic groups consisted of not more than a few thousand people, they were all moving around — and that’s where our cultural diversity comes from. Later national borders were established and “keeping” for some reason became more important than "sharing". But a minority kept moving and although they were always considered outsiders, over the centuries they were in fact "couriers" for cultural exchange.
