New album “I Know What You Want” out now!

!DelaDap could have taken „Conversations Of A Music Group“ as the new title of their fourth album, but it was lacking the punch of „I Know What You Want“ (besides being too laid-back to fit these lively sounds!). The title of the new album speaks for itself and offers an insight into the process that led to these 11 new songs.

Yes, of course there was a lot of hard work involved on the behalf of Vienna-based DJ, producer and musician Stani Vana and the stellar cast of musicians, many of them coming from neighbouring countries like Hungary or Serbia and sharing a historical connection with Austria´s capital that has lately developed into a vibrant and diverse cultural melting pot.

Besides all the work involved, there was also a lot of playfulness. The song-titles and lyrics are inspired by the light-hearted conversations between vocal takes, when Melinda Stoika took cues from Vana´s comments. „Let´s Go Inside“ may have been said when Melinda reentered the vocal booth, but it soon took a life of its own. A perfect setting for !DelaDap ´s music, which started bringing Eastern European music and modern/urban club sounds together in 2004 and has ever since evolved into the unique and life-affirming music you are about to hear.

Based on the album-track „Don´t Turn Around"
(from their fourth album „I Know What You Want") !DelaDap tailored their re-entry into the austrian contest for the ticket(s) to Baku and the Eurovision Song Contest in a creative concentrated effort.

This new version of the song comes in a slightly faster pace (helped by the excitement of the past week ...) and only takes 2 minutes and 57 seconds to highlight all the qualities of !DelaDap´s music. It´s catchy, it makes you wanna dance and every syllable of Melinda Stoika´s vocals is full of that special !DelaDap-magic that immediately connects with the listener. „And when your mind is losing control / don´t worry ´bout just use your soul / jump on the ride / jump on the ride".

New Single: Kaj Tu Salas

Kaj Tu Salas, the second Maxi-Single „spin off“ from the current !DelaDap album „Sara La Kali“ comes with a quite unique mixture of a bouncing, still driving beat, an ace violine-hookline and some very special vocals by !DelaDap studio voice Melinda Stoika who puts a huge load of soul into the verses that are a magical blend of singing and rapping. The song – the title might be translated with „where were you“ – tells the story of the Roma’s long way from India through all parts of Europe, where they spread their music.

The new Maxi-Single also comes with some outstanding remixes from exceptional artists also from all across Europe. Especially the cooperation with Dj Panko of the Spanish top act „Ojos de Brujo“ was a great experience that started with DJ Panko being guest at the !DelaDapCLUB, Stani Vana’s monthly Clubnight at Vienna’s OST KLUB.

Ojos de Brujo are on the road since ten years by now and they can be considered not only as one of the pioneers of contemporary world music, but also as one of the first and most successful to reach a broader audience outside the classic worldmusic community. It’s especially DJ Pankos skill as a producer that helped Ojos de Brujo to leave the beaten paths of traditional ethnical sounds. This idea of breaking and at the same time enhancing traditional gypsy sounds with urban electronics and state of the art beats and experimental arrangements is – among others – one thing Ojos de Brujo shares with !DelaDap and so it looks like there will be comming more out of this new musical friendship.

Also the remixes by Italo-British producer and DJ Stefano Miele will find it’s ways on the dancefloors with an ass kicking up-beat – almost Ska like groove. And of course not to forget two remixes by Swiss-Spanish DJ and producer Massivan, who delivered a sophisticated new interpretation of the !DelaDap smash „Lisa Lisa“.
