Kaj Tu Salas, the second Maxi-Single „spin off“ from the current !DelaDap album „Sara La Kali“ comes with a quite unique mixture of a bouncing, still driving beat, an ace violine-hookline and some very special vocals by !DelaDap studio voice Melinda Stoika who puts a huge load of soul into the verses that are a magical blend of singing and rapping. The song – the title might be translated with „where were you“ – tells the story of the Roma’s long way from India through all parts of Europe, where they spread their music.
Ojos de Brujo are on the road since ten years by now and they can be considered not only as one of the pioneers of contemporary world music, but also as one of the first and most successful to reach a broader audience outside the classic worldmusic community. It’s especially DJ Pankos skill as a producer that helped Ojos de Brujo to leave the beaten paths of traditional ethnical sounds. This idea of breaking and at the same time enhancing traditional gypsy sounds with urban electronics and state of the art beats and experimental arrangements is – among others – one thing Ojos de Brujo shares with !DelaDap and so it looks like there will be comming more out of this new musical friendship.
Also the remixes by Italo-British producer and DJ Stefano Miele will find it’s ways on the dancefloors with an ass kicking up-beat – almost Ska like groove. And of course not to forget two remixes by Swiss-Spanish DJ and producer Massivan, who delivered a sophisticated new interpretation of the !DelaDap smash „Lisa Lisa“.
